The Match Composer and why it’s great for Grifball.

December 13th, 2018 by

Hey everyone!  We got something different to talk about today and that’s the Match Composer that has been released in the Master Chief Collection.  Back in the MCC October Update, the Match Composer was explained in great detail on the new social experience MCC is currently providing.  For the full post, click here.

What is the Match Composer?

In short, the Match Composer is a customized social playlist that you can select the exact games and gametypes  you want to search.  If you feel like playing Team Slayer but only in Halo 2/3, you can remove Halo CE/4 from the search and filter out the other gametypes.  The filters that are available for the Match Composer are as follows:

  1. Halo CE
  2. Halo 2
  3. Halo 2 Anniversary
  4. Halo 3
  5. Halo 4

  1. Slayer (Team and FFA)
  2. SWAT
  3. Sniper
  4. Capture the Flag
  5. Assault
  6. King of the Hill
  7. Action Sack
  8. Infection
  9. Grifball

How does the Match Composer benefit Grifball?

The Match Composer is a huge deal for Grifball as the doors have opened for Grifball having a permanent MM playlist again.  It’s been some time since Grifball has had an up to date playlist in Halo as MCC has been without a dedicated Grifball playlist and Halo 5 has never had the playlist using the gametypes we use in the AGLA.  While it isn’t necessarily a playlist, the options are there to make one and that’s all we need.  MCC only has the Halo 3 and Halo 4 versions of Grifball so Reach and Halo 5 are still on their own with their respective games, but the MCC hype is in full effect and the search times are fairly quick.  Be sure to send 343i some love for bringing Grifball back to MCC and get out there and dominate the randoms!
